Our Lead CFI
R1 Flying Founder and CFI, Joe Altizer, is a retired professional pilot with years of experience. Possessing over 10,000 hours of flight time in various aircraft, Joe has carved a career in the world of aviation.
Joe is a certified ASEL CFI and Helicopter CFI, so it is safe to say that he has been around the block a few times.
Due to his time spent within aviation, Joe has analyzed the processes of flight training. He determined long ago to make it more efficient and costly.
