Need to get your Instrument Rating?

There’s no doubt that an instrument rating will make you a better pilot, and it’s essential for anyone pursuing a commercial pilot certificate.

But the question is: where do you start?

The basic requirements are straightforward: 15 hours of dual instruction, 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time, and 50 hours of cross-country PIC time, along with a written and practical exam.

The real challenge lies in completing all these tasks efficiently, without wasting time or effort. At R1, our aircraft are fully equipped as technically advanced aircraft with modern avionics, allowing students to train effectively and safely.

Our Aircraft

We operate Piper PA28-180 with Dynon Skyview HDX as primary with ADSB IN & Out. A Garmin GNC355 with GI275 CDI and a Val Nav 2000 VOR/LOC/ILS all coupled up to a Bendix Aero Cruz Autopilot.
