Rusty Pilot

DSC03165.JPG

We understand that the journey to obtaining a pilot certification can be interrupted by life’s obstacles, whether family, career, or other commitments. During those times, your piloting goals may take a back seat. Yet when the opportunity arises, the thrill of taking off from the runway or feeling the resistance of the wind calls you back.

If this sounds familiar, you likely need to stretch your flying muscles and refresh your knowledge of regulations to return as an effective, confident pilot. You may feel “rusty” getting back into the hangar, but that’s where we come in.

At R1, we take pride in helping pilots shake off the rust and get back in the air safely and confidently.

Where to Start

While there are several ways to refresh your skills, we recommend R1’s Rusty Pilot Course. The program includes three hours of flight instruction in our Piper Cherokee-180 and two hours of ground instruction, supported by our online ground school.

Even if you’re not a Piper pilot, this will not hinder your progress. The course serves as a refresher from ASEL to the private pilot level, and it’s fully adaptable for commercial or instrument-rated pilots. We can adjust both time and cost to fit your experience and goals.

Upon successful completion, we will also sign off your flight review, ensuring you’re ready to return to the skies with confidence.

Our Mission.
Your Legacy.
