Becoming an FAA-Certified Private Pilot involves meeting a variety of requirements, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way. As a student at R1, you’ll receive the training and preparation needed to excel in both the required examinations and the hands-on flight activities.

Our Certified Flight Instructor possesses the abilities to take on any student and offer them a first-class experience in obtaining a Private Pilot Certification.
FAA Private Pilot Requirements
- Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language.
- Must be at least 17 years of age (16 years of age to fly gliders or balloons).
- Possess a student, sport, or recreational pilot certificate.
- Possess a minimum third-class medical certificate.
- Receive proper ground instruction, flight training, and logbook endorsements.
- Pass required aeronautical knowledge and practical tests.
